Hexagonal Central Display Table:

  • Bespoke hexagonal retail display table in reclaimed timber

  • Lower crate units for support and additional display shelving

Bespoke Sales Counter:

  • Standing height point of sale counter

  • Alternating natural and black stained timber cladding panels

  • Integrated troughs on the front face for stock display

Fitted Shelving & Display Units:

  • Rustic geometric fitted shelving built into the alcove

  • Upcycled Edwardian display unit with drawers and cupboards

  • Hexagonal display shelves above existing fireplace mantels

  • 3m window display shelving along the display window

Refurbishment Works:

  • Remodification in keeping with the original style of Byram Arcade

  • Walls painted white with darker lower third for practicality

  • Mezzanine safety framework with acrylic balcony panels

  • Original skirting boards retained in dark oak stain

Kirklees Council commissioned BB Designs to transform a vacant former barber shop at 14 Westgate into a vibrant shared retail space inside Byram Arcade. Using reclaimed and upcycled materials throughout, the result is now home to Makers & More — a thriving collective of independent makers in the heart of Huddersfield.
